CCSS Donation Drive
|
|
The activities of this community project are in support of the Care Community Services
Society (CCSS) which is the adopted beneficiary. To raise funds for CCSS, several
initiatives were implemented. This includes:
|
- Providing all Cold Storage team members with a specially created Personal Savings
Donation Box which was launched in January 2005. A total of more than $26000 was
raised for CCSS as a result of this donation drive.
- In addition to this, public donation boxes have been set up at all Cold Storage
Group stores islandwide.
- Family Day and Car Rally in June 2005 - All proceeds go to CCSS beneficiaries
- Charity Golf Tournament in July 2005- All proceeds go to CCSS beneficiaries

Training for Prison In-Mates
|
The Cold Storage Group has collaborated with CCSS to work with SCORE (Singapore
Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises) to train 50 inmates on the 'Interact
with Customers' CET training module in late October.

Employment Opportunities for Families of Prison Inmates
|
The Cold Storage Group has also worked with CCSS to help find employment for the
spouses of the inmates. So far, CCSS has referred to us more than 25 candidates
for employment. In total, about 4 of the referrals have been offered and placed
in the Group.

Community Services
|
- SPCA - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Cold Storage has been a supporter of the SPCA for the past years. SPCA donation
boxes were placed at selected stores to collect monies to support the operations
of the association, which runs solely on public and corporate donations. A recent
effort by Cold Storage was the donation of soap and kitchen towels to the newly
added wash-station at the kennels..
- Boys' Town - Sponsorship for Christmas Party at Boys' Town
Christmas is a season for giving, receiving and for sharing all the good fortunes
and blessings with all those that are close to our hearts. Cold Storage helped contribute
to a special Christmas Holiday for the boys at the Boys' Town through the sponsorship
of numerous festive items.
The Christmas Party was held on the evening of 22 December 2003, thoroughly enjoyed
by the boys.
